Product photography checklist before you launch on Amazon.ae or Noon
By Tasweer studio team · Last updated · 7 min read
TL;DR
- Plan 6 to 8 images per SKU: a compliant white main image, back and side angles, a detail, a scale shot, a lifestyle frame and an infographic.
- Check main images against each marketplace: Amazon.ae wants pure white (RGB 255, 255, 255) with the product filling about 85% of the frame; Noon wants JPEG at least 660 px wide, under 10 MB.
- Name files consistently; Amazon's bulk image convention uses the ASIN or SKU plus a code such as MAIN, PT01 or SWCH.
- Shoot every colour variant with identical lighting and framing, and book A+ content once the core images are done.
- Allow about two weeks from sample delivery to upload; ecommerce Signature is delivered 3 days after the shoot, from AED 3,200 for up to 40 products, excl. 5% VAT.
Before you launch on Amazon.ae or Noon, plan 6 to 8 images per SKU, check every main image against each marketplace's rules, name files consistently, shoot colour variants identically and leave time for A+ content. At our Dubai studio, launch-ready images start at AED 1,800 for up to 20 products, with Signature delivered in 3 days.
What should you prepare before a product shoot?
Most reshoots come from preparation, not photography. A clear SKU list and clean samples save time on the day and in retouching.
- SKU list with product names, variants (colour, size), quantities and barcodes or ASINs if you have them.
- Marketplaces and channels: Amazon.ae, Noon, Namshi, Shopify, Instagram.
- Clean samples: stickers and price tags removed, garments steamed, packaging undamaged.
- Spare units for fragile, consumable or easily marked products.
- Bundle contents: everything that ships in the box, laid out together.
- Reference images: competitor listings or brand images you like.
- Key selling points per product, for infographics and A+ content.
- Category rules checked in Seller Central and Noon Seller Center.
Which shots does every SKU need?
Plan 6 to 8 images per SKU. Amazon staff recommend at least six images and one video per product, and Noon recommends at least three images showing different angles, sizes and textures.
| Slot | Shot | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Main image on pure white | Front view, product only, no text |
| 2 | Back or side angle | Shows shape and construction |
| 3 | Second angle or top view | Ports, closures, soles, labels |
| 4 | Detail close-up | Texture, stitching, material, finish |
| 5 | Scale shot | In hand, on body or next to a common object |
| 6 | Lifestyle frame | Product in use, in a real setting |
| 7 | Infographic | Key features or dimensions |
| 8 | What's in the box or size chart | Reduces returns and questions |
Noon expects a set order: front, back, side, other angles, details, then usage. Uploading in a different order is listed as a rejection reason. For more on counts per marketplace, read how many images a product listing needs.
How should you name product image files?
Pick one convention and use it for every file. For Amazon bulk uploads, the established convention is the ASIN or SKU, a full stop, a variant code and the file extension. An Amazon seller forum post gives examples such as an ASIN followed by .MAIN.jpg and .PT02.jpg.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| MAIN | Main image shown in search results |
| PT01 to PT08 | Additional images, in display order |
| SWCH | Colour swatch image |
We confirmed this pattern through an Amazon forum example and third-party guides, not a public Amazon help page, so check the "name your image files" help page in your Seller Central account. For Noon and Shopify, a readable pattern such as sku-colour-view.jpg keeps uploads organised.
How do you handle colour variants and bundles?
Shoot every variant with identical lighting, angle and framing, so shoppers can compare colours fairly. Inconsistent variants look like different products and can lead to returns when colours do not match.
- Same camera position, lighting and product size in frame for every colour.
- Colour-matched to the physical sample, not to the screen.
- A main image for each variant that has its own listing or child ASIN.
- Swatch images if your listing uses them.
- Bundles shown complete, with everything that ships; Noon asks for the full bundle in the primary image.
How do you check images are compliant before upload?
Run every main image through a quick check against each marketplace. Amazon staff describe the main image rules as a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product filling at least 85% of the frame, and no added text, logos or watermarks. Noon's seller help centre asks for JPEG files at least 660 pixels wide, under 10 MB, in RGB or sRGB, with a front view on pure white (light grey for fashion), outside packaging, with light shadows only.
| Check | Amazon.ae | Noon |
|---|---|---|
| Background | Pure white, RGB 255, 255, 255 | Pure white; light grey for fashion |
| Product size | Fills at least 85% of frame | Fills 70 to 80% on alternate images |
| Text and logos | None added on main image | None on primary image |
| Packaging | Product being sold only | Product outside packaging |
| File | JPEG preferred, over 1,000 px for zoom | JPEG, at least 660 px wide, under 10 MB |
| Order | Main first | Front, back, side, angles, details, usage |
Check the background with an eyedropper tool; our guide to white background product photography explains why off-white fails. Full rules are in our Amazon.ae image requirements and Noon image guidelines.
When should you plan A+ content and infographics?
Plan them at the same time as the shoot, even if you build them later. A+ content is available to brand-registered sellers on Amazon, and its modules need lifestyle and detail images in specific shapes, so shooting with A+ in mind avoids a second session.
- List three to five key features per product for infographics.
- Decide whether you need Arabic text overlays.
- Shoot extra lifestyle and detail frames with space for text.
- Plan a product video if you are eligible; Amazon's seller guide says it requires a Professional account and at least three months of selling history.
Our A+ content and infographics service starts at AED 800 for 3 products with 5 infographics each, and Signature is AED 2,200 for 8 products with A+ modules, excl. 5% VAT.
How long does it take to get launch-ready images?

Frequently asked questions
How many images do I need to launch on Amazon.ae?
Amazon staff recommend at least six images and one video per product. A practical launch set is a white main image, two or three angles, a detail, a scale or lifestyle image and an infographic.
How should I name image files for Amazon?
For bulk uploads, Amazon's convention is the ASIN or SKU, a full stop, a variant code and the file extension, for example the ASIN followed by .MAIN.jpg or .PT01.jpg. Check the current list of codes in your Seller Central account before a large upload.
What do I need to send to the studio before the shoot?
A SKU list with names, variants and quantities, the marketplaces you sell on, clean samples with stickers removed, spare units for anything fragile, and any reference images. We confirm a shot list before the shoot day.
Can one shoot cover both Amazon.ae and Noon?
Yes. We shoot square masters on pure white and export to each marketplace's spec. The main difference is fashion, where Noon recommends a light grey background and on-model shots for adult apparel.
Do I need A+ content before launch?
Not to go live, but it helps. A+ content is available to brand-registered sellers on Amazon. Many sellers launch with a full image set first and add A+ modules once the core images are approved.
How fast can I get launch-ready images in Dubai?
Ecommerce Signature is delivered 3 days after the shoot and Heirloom in 2 days, with a 48-hour rush available as an add-on. Free pickup and return across Dubai is included on Signature and above.
