What image size do Talabat, Deliveroo, Careem and Noon Food need?
Deliveroo and Careem publish their specs; Talabat and Noon Food do not, as far as we could find on public pages. Here is what we could verify.
| App | Item image | Hero or banner image | Format and notes | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Deliveroo | Landscape, at least 1200 × 675 px, up to 8 MB; cropped to 1:1 on the platform | At least 1920 × 1080 px, showing at least five dishes | JPEG; no AI-generated images | Deliveroo restaurant help article |
| Careem Food | 1200 × 1200 px, minimum 1 MB | 1125 × 780 px, minimum 1 MB | JPG; changes via Partner Helpdesk ticket | Careem Food Partner FAQs (UAE) |
| Talabat | Not publicly published that we could find | Not publicly published that we could find | Ask your account manager | None verified |
| Noon Food | Not publicly published that we could find | Not publicly published that we could find | Ask your partner support contact | None verified |
Deliveroo's help centre is global, so confirm with your UAE account manager if anything differs locally. Because Talabat and Noon Food specs are not public, the safe approach is to shoot each dish centred with generous space around it, then export a square crop and a landscape crop. One shoot then covers every app.
What do delivery apps reject?
Delivery apps mostly reject cluttered, blurry or edited images and anything that is not a single, real dish. Deliveroo lists its reasons clearly, and they are a sensible standard for every app.
| Deliveroo rejects | What to do instead |
|---|---|
| Hands and faces in shot | Photograph the dish on its own |
| Text, watermarks or overlays | Keep text in the menu description |
| Collages of several dishes in one item image | One dish per item image |
| Heavy or obvious editing | Natural colour and light |
| Raw ingredients more prominent than the dish | Keep garnish minimal |
| Dish cropped or not recognisable after the 1:1 crop | Leave space around the plate |
| Blur, poor colour or poor lighting | Shoot on a tripod with controlled light |
| AI-generated images | Real photos of the food you serve |
Deliveroo also recommends one dish, centred, on a clean background, with a 45-degree angle for stacked items such as burgers, cakes and drinks.
How many dishes should you photograph?
Start with your best-sellers, combos and anything with a high margin; for most restaurants that is 15 to 35 dishes. Items with photos generally stand out against plain text listings, so photograph the items you most want people to order first.
| Restaurant type | Suggested first shoot | Package |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud kitchen or single concept, short menu | 10 to 15 dishes | AED 2,500 to 3,000 at AED 200 to 250 per photo |
| Café with food and drinks | 20 to 35 items | Signature at AED 200 per photo, or AED 175 above 30 |
| Full-service restaurant, long menu | 35 dishes, then add seasonal items | Heirloom, AED 6,125 for 35 photos, then top-ups |
| Multi-brand cloud kitchen | 15 per brand | Per-photo rates, or a custom quote |
| Launch or rebrand | Hero dishes plus campaign video | Heirloom stills plus social reels from AED 2,000 |
Drinks and desserts photograph quickly and often lift basket size, so include them in the count.
Should you shoot in your kitchen or a studio?
Shoot in your kitchen when dishes need to travel fast from pass to plate; shoot in our studio when you want a consistent look across many items. Every package can be shot either way.
| Factor | Your kitchen | Our studio |
|---|---|---|
| Food freshness | Best, straight from the pass | Good for items that hold well |
| Consistency | Depends on space and light | Fully controlled |
| Disruption to service | Shoot before opening | None |
| Props and surfaces | Your own tableware | Our surfaces plus your tableware |
How do you prepare for a menu shoot?
Send a dish list in priority order and cook each dish exactly as a customer receives it. Then:
- Plate in your actual delivery packaging for a few shots, so customers know what arrives.
- Have spare portions of garnishes and sauces ready.
- Schedule the shoot outside service hours.
- Tell us which apps you list on, so crops are exported for each.
If you also want short videos for social, see our Instagram reels cost guide. When you are ready, send your dish count through the quote form for a same-day price.
Frequently asked questions
How much does food photography cost in Dubai?
Our food and beverage photography is priced per photo: AED 250 each for 5 to 10 photos (from AED 1,250), AED 200 each for 11 to 30 and AED 175 each for more than 30, with lighting, setup and retouching included. All prices exclude 5% VAT.
What size should Deliveroo menu photos be?
Deliveroo's restaurant help article asks for landscape JPEG images of at least 1200 × 675 pixels, up to 8 MB. The platform crops item images to a 1:1 square, so the whole dish must sit in the centre with space around it. Hero images need at least 1920 × 1080 pixels.
What size should Careem Food images be?
Careem's food partner FAQ lists item images at 1200 × 1200 pixels and hero images at 1125 × 780 pixels, both JPG with a stated minimum file size of 1 MB.
What are Talabat's photo requirements?
We could not find a public Talabat image specification, so we do not quote one. Ask your Talabat account manager for the current spec. We shoot with enough space around each dish to export both square and landscape crops.
Can you shoot at our restaurant?
Yes. Every package can be shot in your kitchen or at our Dubai studio. Signature and Heirloom add a food stylist on set, and locations outside Dubai are quoted up front.
Can I use AI-generated or stock food photos?
Deliveroo says AI-generated images are not allowed and stock images need the right permissions. Real photos of the dishes you actually serve are the safest choice on every platform.
How quickly can my menu go live?
Delivery takes 3 business days for 5 to 10 photos, 5 for 11 to 30 and 7 for larger menus. A 48-hour rush can be added so new items go live quickly.
